Joost 1.9 is a free program to watch streaming video through your
broadband Internet connection.
It features a daily growing collection of thousands of shows, divided in channels.
You need to install the program and then signup for an account, that you will need everytime you use the program.
Once you´ve signed in, you will be presented with a menu that will offer some content, while directing you to use the program´s controls and features.
Using the Explore function you will be able to select the channel you want to watch. You will find lots of categories and themes, since music videos to cartoons, movies, news and bloopers.
You can always "share" a video you like with a friend, using the "Share" functions. That way you will email him/her a link to that video.
Under the option "My Joost" you will access some functions like News Ticker, Instant Messenger, Chat, Profile, Invite Friend, Blog This and the configuration menu, by using the Widget Menu.
You can add some plugins using the Widget Manager. You must first download that files (with the .joda extension) and then install on your computer using the Widget Manager.
Advantages:
- The image and sound is cristal clear.
Disadvantages:
- You need a good computer and a superb broadband connection to appreciate this service.
